Welcome to the Community. I can share information about adding tags in QuickBooks Online.

The ability to tag transactions is still in active development. You can only use the feature when accessing your QuickBooks account through browsers.

However, there's still a way to add tags using your portable device. I recommend logging in to your QBO using your mobile's web browser.

Just like Desktop browsers, all features are accessible through this method. In case you want to know about the supported browsers available, check out this link: System requirements for QuickBooks Online, Accountant, Payroll, and QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Holy smokes it's 2023 and still not tags in the app??

I'm a software developer and I can't figure out how this is taking years. It's a 2 hour task.

Any update on them adding tags? This would be a major help and save all of us an extra step to log back into a browser to add a tag to each invoice.

Hi there.

I can see the urgency of this matter. Upon carefully checking here on my end, the option to add tags to transactions inside QuickBooks Online (QBO) mobile app is still unavailable.

I'd recommend resending a feature request to our Product Development Team. Once it's available, you'll be one of the users that'll receive a notification about it.

Access your QuickBooks Online company in your desktop's web browser.
On the top right-corner, click the Gear icon.
Below the Profile column, select Send Feedback.
Enter a brief description of your feature request.
Once you're ready, press Send.
