Is there a fix for a system.nullreferenceexception error on Capital One Spark Bank Feed

I have Desktop Pro 2019 and have been unable to download my Capital One Spark Bank Feeds.  I receive a the following error:

"System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object" along with nearly a page of  erro detail.  I am unable to copy it but I have a screenshot.

I have attempted to try and connect the feed to a test account account however Quickbooks says:

"Sorry We've run in a Problem. Quickbooks is having trouble connecting to Capital One Bank - New"

I have attempted several of the troubleshooting options I have seen in these forums, however nothing is working.

I appreciate any help.

Good to see you here in the Community, @brian-j-ott.

Thanks for providing detailed information about the issue. I want to help you and make sure you can connect to Capital One Bank-New.

To connect your account, you'll need to deactivate then reactivate your bank feeds in QuickBooks Desktop. This will help refresh the connection between your bank site and QuickBooks.

But before doing so, make sure to take note of the following:

  • There are no pending transactions in your Bank Feeds.
  • If you have transactions that are beyond 90 days, make sure to add this.

Here's how to deactivate:

  1. Go to List, then select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Right-click the account you want to deactivate. Then select Edit Account.
  3. Go to the Bank Settings tab.
  4. Select Deactivate all online services, then choose OK to confirm.
  5. Hit Save and Close.

You can check out through this article on deactivating bank feeds for an account in QuickBooks Desktop.

Then, you can reactivate your account by following these outlined steps on this article: Set up an Account for Bank Feeds.

Should you need any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us. We're always here to help. Take care!

I am having the same problem. When I follow these directions and attempt to deactivate my account I get a message that says:

"Quickbooks is having trouble connecting to your bank. Go to Company>MyCompany and sign in"

I do that but I have no idea what to do once I sign in????

Please help. I am almost a month behind on my bank transaction downloads already.

Hi there, Sachem Sports Club.

After you signed in to your account from Company menu, let's proceed deactivating the bank again.

If the problem persist, I suggest re-sort all the lists. Take note to create a backup of your company file before performing the steps.

If you're still can't deactivate bank feeds after following the steps above, you can verify and rebuild your data to see if the the data damage is causing the issue.

The given solutions above are the alternatives steps so you can deactivate Bank Feeds for your account without any problems.

Please check this article to find out what are the solutions when you can’t deactivate your bank account’s online services in QuickBooks Desktop: Can’t deactivate Bank Feeds for an account.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help you succeed with QuickBooks.

Did you even read my post? I CANNOT deactivate my bank feed. When I try I get the message that Quickbooks CANNOT connect to my bank.

Your response is no help at all.

Please read the issue again before responding.

Thanks for elaborating, @Sachem Sports Club.

If you've successfully signed in to your account through the My Company section, you can attempt deactivating the bank again. If you're getting the same error, I recommend following the three solutions available in the order shown in this article:

Can’t deactivate Bank Feeds for an account.

In case you're having trouble getting into your account, I suggest you reset the credentials via the CAMPS website. Please visit the link below and enter the information needed to retrieve the username or password:

Reset Intuit Account Password.

We're a post away if you need anything moving forward about deactivating the bank. The Community will keep an eye on your response.

Re: Is there a fix for a system.nullreferenceexception error on Capital One Spark Bank Feed

I am having the same difficulty as Sachem Sports Club. I cannot download bank feeds from a Capital One account. I've tried everything suggested in earlier posts. Tried resetting password at Camp site. Nothing works. I get the system.nullreferenceexception when I try to download bank feeds. If I try to disable bank feeds, I get a "Can't connect to your bank error, go to My Company>Sign In". I am already signed in. When I try to log out of QB desktop entirely, it says "There is a live connection with the bank active. Please wait until operation is complete." This never completes and I cannot even sign out of QB.

Please review everyone's details and send appropriate solution, QB. Generic answers aren't helping us.
