I understand that unlinking your credit card accounts will give you complete control over how transactions are entered into your books, allowing you greater accuracy and customization in your financial records. I'll guide you through the steps on how to do this in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Linda.
To disconnect the account, here's how:
- Go to the Transactions menu and select Bank Transactions.
- Locate the tile for the credit card or bank account.
- Select the pencil icon, then click Edit account info.
- Tick the Disconnect this account on save checkbox.

- Hit Save and Close.
When you disconnect your account, transactions waiting to be categorized will no longer appear in the For Review tab. If the transactions are older than 90 days, they cannot be automatically downloaded from the bank if you decide to reconnect later. However, you can still manually upload older transactions to ensure your records remain complete.
