Keeps telling me to "Select bank account for this deposit"

The program is already connected to my bank as I am able to download transactions and this particular account I know is set up so why does it keep asking me"Select a bank account for this deposit". I can't find anywhere to even choose an account

Keeps telling me to "Select bank account for this deposit"

Hi there, @HoustonBrown.

I'd like to help you link your deposit to the right account. Can you specify what bank you're trying to link the deposit? This way, I'll be able to provide you the right solution. I'd appreciate any additional information.

Also, you can visit our Banking and bank feeds page to learn some tips on managing your bank feeds in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

I look forward to hearing from you. You can always get back to us if you have other concerns.

Keeps telling me to "Select bank account for this deposit"

the directions  one the "Banking and Bank feeds" page does not apply to QB Online it seems. I could not find directions for that.  However, I believe my Account to already be connected as I am able to download transactions so does that not mean how I am already connected? This is why I am confused about why I'm getting this error in the first place. My bank is Wells Fargo.

Keeps telling me to "Select bank account for this deposit"

Hello HoustonBrown,

You will know when your bank is already connected if you see the Edit sign-in info button when you edit the account. Here's a sample screenshot for reference:

For the affected transaction, do see a different account selected from the Category drop-down list? For example, the category shows Undeposited Funds. If this is the account chosen, we can select a different account to save the transaction.

This is the sample screenshot I got when I try to add a transaction in the Banking section with an Undeposited Funds account.

Let me know how it went after changing the account. Thanks.

Keeps telling me to "Select bank account for this deposit"

In order to create a transaction, there needs to be two accounts to reconcile said transaction. I open a bank account. I am in the register. I click create new deposit. The bank account is already setup for the deposit. It is listed at the top.

But when I try to choose an account for the reason of the deposit, I cannot. It keeps giving me that same error unless it is another bank account. That makes no sense to me. I am depositing a check. I am not moving money from one account to the other in a one-entry transaction.

Please explain what is wrong here. In an account I want to make a deposit and categorize it. How can I do that?

But that just creates a circular transaction that gores nowhere. From account to account can't be the same

Keeps telling me to "Select bank account for this deposit"

Hi there, Laszona.

It's possible that the bank account where the deposit is withdrawn from is the same as to where we'll deposit the funds. Let's make sure that we select a different bank account for us to get rid of the error.

However, if we used a different bank and we still get the error, a browser-troubleshooting error might have caused the issue. We can perform a few troubleshooting steps so we can save the deposit.

  1. Let's access QuickBooks and create a Deposit using a private browser.
  2. If we were able to to save without any error prompts, let's clear your main browser's cache. Stored files causes unusual behaviors within QuickBooks.
  3. Other browsers can also help us get rid of the error such as Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, and Mozilla Firefox.

Keep me posted on how this works. I'll keep an eye on your reply. Thanks!
