My bank account is not linked to QB. I need to enter a bank fee charge. How can I get that entered into my bank register w/o reconciling?

My bank account is not linked to QB. I need to enter a bank fee charge. How can I get that entered into my bank register w/o reconciling?

Good afternoon, @pamelac1.

 

Thanks for reaching out to the Community. I'd be happy to help you with recording a bank fee. 

 

When you enter your bank fees at the beginning of your reconcile, it's creating an expense transaction. Since you mentioned your bank isn't connected, you can create an expense for those fees, and here's how: 

  1. Select the +New option in the left corner. 
  2. Choose Expense, then choose the Payment account
  3. Click on an expense account category such as Bank charges
  4. Enter the amount and key in the rest of the information. 
  5. Go to Save & Close when you're done.
