My business checkbook was stolen-had to close business checking and open new Wells Fargo acct. How can I connect new checking acct to QB? QB rep could not help me

From WF online, it shows Intuit has permission to access the new checking, but it only shows up in my other business (I have 2 businesses). I have tried repeatedly to add the account from the proper business, but that checking acct will not show up. It does show up in the other business I own.

Thank you for getting in touch about your banking concern, @laura-lemco-iclo. I can see a browser-related situation here like what I've experienced before.

There are times our browser holds too many cookies, resulting in unexpected behavior.

To confirm, let's start using a private or incognito window as it blocks tracking cookies by default and won't remember any password or company file you've previously opened.

You can follow these keyboard shortcut keys according to your preferred browser:

  • Google Chrome: Press CTRL+Shift+N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press CTRL+Shift+P
  • Internet Explorer: Press CTRL+Shift+P
  • Safari: Press Command+Shift+N

Log in to the right company, then disconnect the old checking account. Please know that QuickBooks deletes transactions that still needs to be categorized in the For review tab. I'd recommend reviewing them first before doing so.

Here's how:

  1. Click Bookkeeping from the left menu.
  2. Go to the Banking tab.
  3. Select the tile for the bank account, then select the pencil icon.
  4. Click Edit account info, then select the Disconnect this account on save checkbox.
  5. Click Save and Close.

After that, connect your new Wells Fargo account. If that works, go back to your main browser and start clearing its cache to refresh website preferences. It also helps you in getting rid of errors and issues when using QuickBooks moving forward.

However, if the problem persists, I'd recommend contacting our Customer Care team to help you check what's causing this to happen.

Let me know if there's anything else I can offer with your banking concerns, @laura-lemco-iclo. I'll be there to help you again.

Thank you! I tried your suggestions so hoping it would work. Unfortunately, it did not.  I am not an IT person, but I feel the problem is that I have two businesses, with one login to Wells Fargo online, and one login to Quick Books.  The new checking account shows up in the other company, but I can't get it to show up in the correct company.  I tried deleting all connections and starting over, that didn't work either.

Thanks for following up with us and for following the troubleshooting steps above, @laura-lemco-iclo. I appreciate all your efforts in resolving this issue.

Let me join the discussion and add some information regarding the checking account that didn't appear at the appropriate company.

Are you using the Wells Fargo Business brokerage account? If yes, we currently have an ongoing investigation about this. Our product engineers are working as hard as possible to resolve this issue. I know syncing your account will speed up your work on categorizing the transaction.

But if you are not using a business brokerage, the checking should show to the right company. Most Financial Institution allows multiple connections. Syncing a bank account to two QBO accounts might cause some connectivity issues. Make sure to check with your FI before performing the process.

Once confirmed, I'd recommend adding it again and apply what's your FI suggestions. The new checking account should be linked to that account as long as you select the right business. It also does not matter if you use the same login credentials with your Wells Fargo and QuickBooks Online.

Moreover, I'd recommend contacting our Technical Support Team to add you to the list of affected users and investigate the issue further. Complete these steps:

  1. Go to the Help menu, then click Contact Us.
  2. Type your concern in the box and tap Let's talk.
  3. Choose either Get a call or Start a chat.
  4. Complete the required data and submit the request.

Ensure to call them within business hours for a swift response. Also, once fixed, you will be notified via email.

I'd be happy to listen and help if there are other problems with your account. Please leave that in the comment section below, and I'll get back to you shortly. Be safe.
