My linked bank account is shown as [CLOSED] on my QB Self-Employeed account, but it is not closed. How do I gain access to my bank accounts again?

Let's check why your bank account is marked as CLOSED in QuickBooks, abigham1.

There's a possibility that your financial institution is performing system maintenance causing the bank account to show a closed status. You need to check if there are notifications on your bank’s website that need attention.

Or it was accidentally closed in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE). You can simply slide the switch to turn on the online banking connection.

If not, you can click the Refresh all button to load the page and automatically updates the bank data. Here are the steps you can follow:

  1. Go to the Gear icon on the top menu.
  2. Click Bank accounts.
  3. Find your bank, then click Refresh all button.
  4. If changes are coming from your bank's website, the system will prompt you to enter your banking credentials.

If it's still showing as CLOSED, you can raise this by contacting our QBSE Live Team. Our Online Banking Team will check and investigate why this unexpected behavior is happening.

For now, you can manually import bank transactions to keep your income up-to-date.

Let me know if there's anything else you need by leaving a comment below. I'll be around until you're able to reconnect your bank account to QBSE.
