My new Chase credit card doesn’t show as an option to link in QuickBooks. Existing Chase accounts work fine. How can I get QB to link this new credit card?

I recently added a new credit card to my Chase account, which is already connected to QuickBooks Online for other credit card accounts. However, when I try to relink or update the connection, the new credit card does not appear as an option to connect, even though my existing Chase credit card accounts are visible and connected. I have verified that the new credit card is active, linked and accessible through Chase. How can I ensure the new credit card appears in QuickBooks so I can link it to my Chart of Accounts?

Thank you for bringing up your concern about linking the new credit card from the Chase account, ronquillos. I'm here to guide you in connecting your new credit card to your existing account. Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Navigate to Transactions and click on Bank Transactions.
  2. Use the Link account ▼ dropdown and choose Manage connections. Here, activate the toggle switch for any extra account you wish to connect. (Note: The Manage Connections section displays all historical connections set up via bank feeds and these cannot be deleted).
  3. If the account isn’t listed, return to Transactions and click on Link account.Proceed with the instructions to connect to a new bank or credit card account.
  4. In the Account Type ▼ dropdown, select Credit Card.
  5. Name the account and click Save and Close.
  6. Map the bank account using the Existing Accounts ▼ dropdown, then click Next.
  7. Click Connect, and then select Done.
  • Note: The account name can be personalized in the New account name field, and you can change it anytime later.

To access up-to-date bank transactions via automatic downloads, please refresh your bank feed. Navigate to Transactions, choose Bank Transactions, and then click on Update.

Furthermore, to assist you in accurately organizing your charts of accounts, please follow the steps outlined in this article: Categorize Online bank transactions.
