Having issues with your bank information/transactions will surely delay your working progress, Stacey. I'm here to share some insight into how to fix the problem.
To begin with, have you encountered any errors while trying to pull up your bank information? This way, we can provide an accurate solution to resolve this issue.
Additionally, QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) downloads transactions from the last 30 to 90 days, and sometimes up to a year. However, since your February and March transactions are not in your QuickBooks, we can manually import your bank transactions into QBSE. First, we need to check the date range of your transactions in QBSE to ensure that we don't import duplicates from your bank. Here's how to do it:
- In QuickBooks Self-Employed, go to Transactions.
- From the Account: All drop-down menu, select the account you plan to upload transactions into.
- From the Date drop-down menu, select All.
- Select the Date column header to sort the list by date.
- Take note of the oldest transaction date in the account.
Next, you can export the transactions of your bank by following these steps:
- Sign in to your bank’s website.
- Follow your bank’s steps to download your transactions as a CSV file. This is usually a button or link on your account page.
- Set the date range for at least one day before the oldest transaction in the account in QuickBooks.
- Follow any on-screen instructions to finish the download.
After exporting the transactions, you can import them into QBSE. Here's how to do it:
- Open QuickBooks Self-Employed in a web browser and select Settings.
- Select Imports and choose Import older transactions for the account you want to add transactions to.
- Select Browse and find the file you downloaded from your bank. It's usually in your Downloads folder.
- Select the file and select Open to start the import.
- Review the column headers and data. Make sure the Date, Description, and Amount columns on the CSV match the columns and order in QuickBooks. The other column headers can be in any order.
- Select Continue to complete the import.
Once the import is finished, your transactions will be in QuickBooks. For more detailed information, you can check this article: Add transactions to QBSE.
