New to QB/unable to connect with bank but can use bank portal


I am new to Quickbooks for my company.  I signed up for QB Online and have difficulty with connecting my bank account.  My bank has assured me that they work with QB and that it is one this end that something is not working.  Will this be an ongoing issue as a business owner with this new application or a simple fix?

There are times that your browser is full of frequently-accessed page resources, thus causing websites, like QuickBooks Online (QBO), to act weirdly. This can be the reason why you're unable to connect your bank account successfully.


But first, may I know that name of your bank or have you receive any error message? Let's consider logging into your QBO account using a private browser so we can isolate this issue. To do so:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Command Option P

If this works, you can clear your regular browser's cache so the system can start fresh. But if you get the same results while using a private browser, use a different browser app instead.
