My 1st bank account enabled and downloaded transactions to the reconcile screen with no problem. I realized I had not set an opening balance so made a 2nd bank account with the same name and a 2 after it so that I could enter a beginning balance.
I am having no luck downloading to this account or enabling it.
I've brought up new account in reconcile window, gone to Online banking set up, found bank, gone to website, downloaded the file in .qbo format - Download transactions gives me this:
When I go to new account, online settings won't allow me to enable the new account:
(There is no little edit pencil in the corner of screen when it comes up in Statement Download window nor in Downloaded Transactions window. (I don't know why that is showing up))
I've removed old account from being enabled. When that didn't work, I inactivated old account.
I still cannot get the new account to be enabled and to accept downloaded transactions.
(The articles on line seem to be for PC versions and old versions. I'm using Mac desktop 2019.)

I'm here to help you reconnect your bank account into Quickbooks Mac Desktop 2019.
Since you're connecting the same account, the system will recognize the initial Direct Connect setup. To add the correct account, unlink the associated account from your online banking . Follow these steps:
Tap on Lists then hit Chart of Accounts.
Select the account name and click Edit at the bottom of the Chart of Accounts.
Click Online Settings.
On the Online Account Information window, choose “Not enabled” from the Download Transaction list then click Save.
In the Edit Account window, click OK.
Please make sure to accept or delete any transactions still displayed in the Downloaded Transactions window before disassociating an account.
You can now add the second account in QuickBooks with the imported transactions. If this doesn't work, try deleting the old account.
To delete an account:
Go to the Lists menu and select Chart of Accounts.
Pick the account you want to delete.
Click the Edit icon and hit Delete Account.
