Paypal Connections

Hi,

I am working on a clients QuickBooks and have tried to back date the QuickBooks to Paypal online banking connection to 01/02/20, however, QuickBooks can only make the connection to 05/06/20. Please help with how to manually add the other transactions? I have tried various Paypal downloads of CSV's but they all seem to download the wrong thing so can't be imported into QuickBooks. There is upwards of 2100 transactions already imported back to June so I assume there will be a similar amount to manually add if this effects anything?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there, @acccount_shannon.

I can walk you through on how to manually add your bank transaction in QuickBooks Online.

If you're using the Sync wit Paypal app, there are two ways on how you can import your Paypal transactions in QBO. This is through the app and from the QuickBooks Online account.

However, if you already have multiple entries that were imported before, the new transactions will not overwrite the previously imported entries. Thus, if you've selected the Re-Import previously imported transactions option, this might create new transactions that cause duplicates if you haven't deleted the past transactions.

Here's how you can import the transactions from the App Center:

  1. Go to My Apps.
  2. Select on My Apps at the top.
  3. Locate the Sync with PayPal app card.
  4. Hit on Settings on the Sync with PayPal app card.
  5. A new tab will open.
  6. Press on Run in the Manual Import section.

To import the entries with QBO:

  1. Login to your QuickBooks Online account
  2. Select on Apps from the left menu.
  3. Press on My Apps at the top.
  4. Locate the Sync with PayPal app card.
  5. Hit on Settings on the Sync with PayPal app card.
  6. A new tab opens.
  7. Click on Run in the Manual Import section. Once there, enter the desired date range then select Run.

Here's a link that will give you more details about this process: Sync with Paypal: Manual import overview.

On the there hand, if you're utilizing the Connect with Paypal app, the manual import is only possible during the first-time setup of the connection where you have the option of selecting a past date.

If you've selected a date range in error, you can change the date range after connecting, disconnecting, and reconnecting the account.
