Performed an "undo reconciliation" but it did not release all data - my deposits are still showing as cleared?

I needed to undo a reconciliation - and the data was still off.  So I performed "undo" for the prior month as well.  Now I am seeing that my deposits are still marked as "cleared" even though the month is now listed as needing to reconcile?

Hi there, @MaryV.

Welcome to the Community. Let's get this reconciliation issue sorted out and get you back to business.

We haven't received any similar cases reported to us. For now, you can close and reopen the Undo Last Reconciliation between every use of that button, so that it refreshes your transactions properly. However, if the issue persists you can try running the verify and rebuild process. Verifying the data identifies commonly known data issues within a company file while rebuilding data resolves data integrity issues.

To do that:

  1. Click on File at the top menu bar.
  2. Select on Utilities.
  3. Then Verify Data.
  4. If you see QuickBooks detected no problem with your data, select OK, and you can continue using your company file.
  5. If Verify finds an issue with your data, you will be prompted to Rebuild Now.

For more steps in performing this process, please check out this article: Resolve data damage on your company file.

If the same thing happens after performing these steps, I'd suggest reaching out to our Customer Care Team. This way they'll be able to check on your transactions and verify on what's causing the issue.

To reach them:

  1. In your browser, navigate to
  2. Choose QuickBooks Desktop.
  3. Click the issue or topic.
  4. Click the Green Phone button to see the support number.

This should guide you to the right track, @MaryV
