printing bank reconciliations get black screen where report should be

I'm using QB Premier desktop. When I try to print bank reconciliation from Reports > Banking > Previous Reconciliation When I click display I only get a black screen where the report should be. Happens every time. What should I do? today I completed the current reconciliation and had trouble printing and tried to reprint using the report function and again black screen. Now I don't have a copy of the reconciliation. Why is this happening and how do I fix it?

I've got steps to help you fix the black screen when accessing your reconciliation report, @Pallyn.

First, let's run the QuickBooks Print & Print Repair Tool. This helps to fix common errors when printing reports in QuickBooks:

  1. Make sure QuickBooks is close
  2. Then, download the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Save the file somewhere you can easily find it.
  3. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  4. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  5. When the install finishes, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.
  6. In the QuickBooks Tool Hub, select Program Problems.
  7. Choose QuickBooks PDF & Print Repair Tool. It will take about a minute to run.
  8. Attempt to print the reconciliation report again.

If this doesn't fix the issue, let's reset your temp folder permissions:

  1. Press the Windows key + R to open the RUN command.
  2. Type %TEMP% and press Enter.
  3. Right-click an empty area of the temp folder, and choose Properties.
  4. Select the Security tab. Ensure all usernames and groups showing on the Security tab have Full Control.
  5. Once the permissions have been set to Full Control, save as a PDF again within QuickBooks.
  6. Then, confirm you can print to your XPS Document Writer. Open Notepad.
  7. Type Test. Click File and then Print.
  8. Select the XPS Document Writer, and then Print.
  9. Type a filename and save it to your desktop.
  10. Go to your desktop and view the XPS document you printed from notepad.

Here's the article that will give you more info about the process: Troubleshoot PDF and Print problems with QuickBooks Desktop.

Here's a handy article that you may visit to guide you in filtering data and personalizing your report in QuickBooks: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop. This also includes steps on how to export, send, and print reports.

Let me know how this goes, @Pallyn. I'm here if you need further assistance with printing your reconciliation report. Have a good one.
