Privacy and Bank Connect

Hi all,

I just started using the online version and was interested to connect my AMEX card. On the connect screen I get the message:

When you select Connect we will grant American Express access to your QuickBooks Online data. This includes:

  • data about your company,
  • data about your customers, suppliers, and/or employees,
  • enabling processing payments, and
  • any updates you may make to your QuickBooks Online data after you connect.
That’s pretty vague. I'm trying to find out what kinds of data about my company, customers, suppliers and employees I would be sharing. I have NDAs with several of my customers.
I've done a search on the site but haven't found anything.

Privacy and Bank Connect

Hello there, @ChrisC.

It's nice to have you here in the Community. I can provide some assistance with the information about your company, customers, suppliers, and employees you would be sharing when connecting American Express to QuickBooks Online (QBO).

QBO has a Data Sharing Policy that describes what types of data Intuit shares with third-party apps and developers, in order to provide meaningful, relevant, and useful information services that integrate with QuickBooks. When you connect your bank to QBO, they may receive certain information about your QuickBooks account, including any updates you make to your company.

To know more about what types of data are accessible by your bank, you may visit this link: Data Sharing Policy. You can also reach out to the American Express phone support team for further assistance:

Just in case you need it, here's a helpful article that tackles connecting American Express to QBO: Access and use American Express Connect to QuickBooks.

That should answer your question for today. Please let me know if you have any follow-up concerns by leaving a comment below. I'm always here to help you out. Take care and enjoy the rest of the day.
