QB for Mac app of QB Online is crashing every time I try to open a new tab. How do I fix? Tried downloading and replacing to no avail.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. I have troubleshooting steps to help resolve this issue. We can reset the application to refresh it. Follow the steps below:  

 

  1. Go to Help & Feedback at the top menu bar.  
  2. Choose Reset App Data, and then Refresh.

Then close and reopen the app to check if that works.  

 

Also, let's make sure you've met the system requirements when using the app. The following article contains a quick guide to the supported qualifications for the program: QuickBooks App for Windows and Mac: General support.

 

If you're using a supported Mac OS and still getting issues, you may have to manually update your QuickBooks Online for the Mac app to get this resolved. If you get the same result, I'd recommend reaching out to our Customer Care support for further assistance.

 

The support agents can use the screen share tool to determine what's causing the issue and get this straightened out quickly. You can find their contact information by following the steps found in this article: Contact the QuickBooks Online Customer Support team.

I'm having the same issue. tried the steps above and didn't have any success. I will use the browser version from now on

I am having the same issue and I have tried all the fixes you listed and it's still happening. What else can I try?? I work between tabs all the time. I'm having to open my app and then open my browser at the same time to work around it crashing.

To isolate this, let's make sure that you're using the supported operating system when accessing your account. Right now, the app currently supports Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks)Mac Os 10.10 (Yosemite), and Mac OS 10.11 (El Capitan). However, if you're using Big Sur, you can access your account via a web browser.
