QB Pro 2019 and Amex

Hi - pretty much what it says on the tin. I'm using QB Pro 2019, and have been connecting happily for years to Amex to download transactions. Today it's not working. I tried deactivating, and now when I try to reactivate, there's an error about branding and profile servers not accessible. I know I have to switch to 2022 in May to keep this working, but for now, what's the deal?

Welcome to the Community, bitboyenterprises. I appreciate your screenshot and detailed information.

The OLSU1011 error message can occur for the following reasons:

  • There's damage in your company file data.
  • You're in Register or Classic mode instead of Side-by-Side or Express.
  • The Financial Institution Directory (FIDIR) hasn't been updated to include necessary information for your financial institution.

Initially, you'll want to try specifying the default accounts for your personal and company preferences.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in as an Admin and switch to single user mode.
  2. In the top menu bar, go to Edit, Preferences, then Checking.
  3. Access your My Preferences tab and choose default accounts for all four options.
  4. Click Company Preferences and pick default accounts for Create Paychecks and Pay Payroll Liabilities.
  5. Select OK.
  6. Try to connect the account again.

If you continue encountering a OLSU1011 error while trying to set up online banking, you'll want to try performing solutions 2 and 3 from our Bank Feeds setup error OLSU-1011 article. There's also additional troubleshooting steps for this message available in that resource.

Please feel more than welcome to send a reply if there's any questions. Have a great day!

Did you try downloading the transactions from AMEX.com and not going through Bank Feeds?

Looks like it was a transient issue - I was able to reconnect the account and download again after about 3 hours.

Hi - you have a real scammer problem!  I've received a call twice now from someone obviously trolling this board for people with issues - he dug up my contact info and called me claiming to be from QuickBooks/Intuit and offering to help me with my problem. Very disturbing!
