QB prompted me to reconnect my bank account. When it did, all my records are now wrong. recategorized and duplicates (but on different dates), anyone else?

The duplicates can't be bulk fixed because they are showing up on different days, for example Walmart 12/20 $4.00 and Walmart 12/19 $4.00. Every credit card transaction since 2020 now have this. QB says there is nothing they can do, but there has to be someone who has had this happen?

Hi there, Jena. QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) relies on the data provided by your bank. I understand how challenging it is when transactions are miscategorized and duplicated after reconnecting your account.

To help narrow this down, could you confirm if you had any bank rules set up before reconnecting the account? Sometimes, these rules automatically apply categories or actions to newly downloaded transactions, which could be contributing to what you’re seeing.

If you did have any rules in place, I suggest we temporarily disable them while we review your transactions. This will prevent any further automatic changes.

In the meantime, I recommend manually excluding the duplicate transactions in the Transactions tab. This way, they won’t be included in your records or impact your reports.

Please let me know if there's anything else I can help you with. I'm here to help.
