QBO Android

Anyone understand the recent changes in quickbooks online for andriod where you cant see the payee from the detail page when categorizing transactions. At top of just says "Purchase" with the date and amount. It doesnt include any info about who I paid.  So you have to back out to the list of transactions after categorizing each transaction. QBO blocks screen shots so I will have to do something fancy to get a image but if anyone familiar with this?

Let's ensure your mobile operating system and QuickBooks Online App is up to date to get this working. Once done, you can refresh the QBO app.

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks App.
  2. Tap the three-dotted line at the top menu bar. 
  3. Select Settings and tap Refresh Data.

If it's still the same after performing the steps, you can follow the detailed steps in this article: Troubleshooting Quick-Start Guide for the QuickBooks Online app.

 

I've also included this article that you can use in the future: Mobile applications hub. This contains resources such as updating your billing information and running reports.

thank you for the response but this appears to be a design issue in the latest version of the app.   Here is the issue -  On the main page of the bank account, I can see the charge for Lyft however when I select it the second image where you select the category it doesnt show that the charge is for Lyft.   Now I can remember for 10 seconds that the charge is for Lyft so categorizing the first charge is manageable.  However, once I select the catagory for Lyft I am shown a new charge on the second screen and I have no way to tell what company it is for.  I just see the dollar amount.

sorry for sideways picture.. that seems to be an issue on the forum. but you can see in second picture there is no way to see company name

Thanks for sharing more details here in the Community. Let me share some clarification about categorizing transactions in the mobile app.

 

Currently, an option to display the payee when categorizing transactions is unavailable. For now, I recommend taking note of the name from the For Review section before starting the process.

 

I appreciate your input on this feature. We always update the features in QuickBooks Online, and this preference might be added in the future.

 

As we assess this, I suggest you visit our QuickBooks Blog to stay updated with all the changes that are being made.

That creates a horrible workflow.   The problem with the workflow is that even if you take note of the first payee after you accept that transaction you are taking to the next open transaction with no idea who the payee is.  It is almost impossible to categorize a transaction without knowing what the payee is.   This means after every transaction you need to back out manually to the list of open transactions. 

Previous versions did not do this, the apple version doesnt do this.  Clearly  this 'upgrade' for andriod was clearly not well thought out.
