Quickbooks can't find accounts at our bank. It always populate to reconnect our accounts, but before this, bank accounts were linked property for a week.

Hi! We have 3 companies in Quickbooks and each company has different linked bank accounts. Since we started to separate other companies, the bank accounts of each company were linked properly for a week.  After a week, it says Quickbooks can't find accounts at our bank. It always populates to reconnect our accounts. We've tried multiple time to reconnect it again but doesn't work. Why would this happen when initially it was just working fine? How to fix this? Thank you in advance for your help.

I'll make sure that you can reconnect your bank accounts, maria-flippingsy.

It's possible that your financial institution encountered a server issue or undergoing maintenance that's why QuickBooks is unable to establish a connection to your accounts. To rule this out, you can try signing in to your bank’s website, then check if everything is working on their end.

If there are no issues in your bank, you can perform some basic troubleshooting steps to get this rectified. At times, the accumulated cache in your browser causes sync and connection issues in the program. Start by accessing your QBO account in a private or incognito window. Please refer to the shortcut keys I've listed below:

  • Ctrl Shift for Google Chrome
  • Ctrl Shift for Firefox & Microsoft Edge
  • Command Shift for Safari

Once you're in, head to the Banking or Transactions menu again. If you're able to connect without any issues, go back to your regular browser and then clear its cache and cookies to start over fresh. Alternatively, you can switch to other supported browsers.

In the meantime, you can manually update your bank connection to get the latest available transactions. Here's how:

  1. Select Banking or Transactions from the sidebar menu.
  2. Go to the Banking tab.
  3. Choose the appropriate bank account.
  4. Click Update.

Also, I would appreciate it if you can tell me the name of your bank. This way, I'll be able to check our records here if there are any reported cases.

Lastly, here are some articles that you can read to help speed up the reviewing process of your online bank transactions:

I'm still here if you have any other concerns or additional queries. Just leave the details below and I'll get back to you.
