QuickBooks Desktop hangs on Bank Feeds Send/Receive

When I choose Send/Receive in Bank Feeds, nothing happens (no hourglass or prompt for a password) and QuickBooks becomes unresponsive. I have to use the Task Manager to close the program.

 

  • It worked the last time I used it.
  • I can add and edit transactions.
  • I haven't made any changes to QB or my PC. I
  • ran QuickBooksDesktopInstallDiagnosticTool.exe.
  • I verified my data file.
  • I rebooted.
  • Etc.

Thanks for your help, but what a painful experience! I received a callback per your suggestion. The support representative's accent was heavy and the call center background noise was so loud I could barely understand her. I was put on hold repeatedly and eventually told that I needed to purchase a support plan to get help. I wasn't asking for help with a complex accounting transaction, I want the software to work. It's unacceptable to me that I have to pay $79 for one call to get the software to operate without hanging, especially when I can't understand the representative, and when the software is only two years old. And her plan was to testing the data file (which I'd already done) and reinstal the software (which I'd already done). I contacted my bank (Wells Fargo) who had me unlink and relink my accounts in QB which fixed the problem. I can't imagine how many days that would have taken with QB's support. I am done venting, but remain very disappointed with QB's support and support policy (and pleased that ChristieAnn replied).

  1. Press F1 to open the Help window.
  2. Give a brief description of your issue in the search icon.
  3. Click Contact us at the bottom part.
  4.  Enter a description of your issue in the Tell us more about your question box. Click the Search button.
