Quickbooks is not uploading file, how do I import transactions?
I've got the steps to import your transactions to QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE), @changingmindsmhs.
The CSV file may not be formatted correctly. That's why the program isn't uploading the file.
To help fix this, let's first check the column headers and data. If you use the 3-column format, make sure the Date, Description, and Amount columns on the CSV match the columns and order in QBSE. For the 4-column format, review the Date, Description, Credit, and Debit columns and their headers.
Second, you can remove the zeros (0) from the file and leave those cells blank. Third, please ensure the Date format has a single pattern, such as dd/mm/yyyy. Fourth, you can correct any transactions that display a number in the Description column. For more troubleshooting steps, see the Formatting CSV files for import section through this article: Format CSV Files. This article is specific to QuickBooks Online, but it also applies to QBSE.
After that, import your transactions again. Then, let's go to the Transactions tab to review what you imported. This ensures you have no duplicate entries in the software. If there are duplicates, I'd suggest excluding them. For more information, see Step 4 through this article: Add Older Transactions.
As always, you can categorize and edit your transactions. You'll have to select Personal, Business, or Split as the type, and choose the appropriate categories for them. This ensures your financial records are correct. To learn more about this process, visit this article: Categorizing Transactions.
I'm just a comment away if you need further assistance. Enjoy the rest of your day, @changingmindsmhs.
