Greetings,
Quickbooks Desktop 2020 has thrown me for a loop again since upgrading. My unmatched transactions are not appearing when I want to "match to an existing transaction" after downloading from the bank. They do not appear when "last 30 days" is marked and they do not appear when I select "show all". I can see the check is still listed in the register and there is nothing marked that would prevent me from matching, such as reconciliation. They just are not showing up. At this point I feel like it's a QB bug, but would be grateful if anyone here could point me in the right direction to resolving this (maybe I need to download/install QBs again??)
I have attached a screen shot of what I see. Thank you for you help in advance.
Thanks for sharing the screenshot of your Bank Feeds, Jackie1113.
Let me share some steps that can resolve unexpected behavior when using QuicBooks Desktop.
Start by making sure that your software is on the latest maintenance release. The steps on this process can be found here: Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.
Once done, go back to the Bank Feeds Center and check if you can already see the unmatched transactions.
Just in case you can't still see the check, proceed to repairing the software. Let me share this as a guide: Repair your QuickBooks Desktop for Windows.
Then, check again if you can already see the unmatched transactions. Keep us posted if you still need help with your banking transactions.
Hi JenoP,
Thank you for your response. Ironically my QB went through an update last night (currently at R7-89); however, I am still not able to see any transactions to match to. When I go to attempt the next step you suggested I cannot modify or "repair" QB as the article says. I am only able to uninstall QB. I am attaching another screen shot...you can see the modify button is not highlighted and will not allow me to select it.
Any suggestions? Maybe uninstall and reinstall at this point? Or is this a tool that aids in QB fixes I can download?

I downloaded the QB Hub Tool and QB Fix tool. Neither have resolved this issue.
Hi there, Jackie1113.
Thank you for providing a screenshot and the troubleshooting steps you've performed to resolve the issue.
Since the problem persists, I recommend running the Verify and Rebuild Utilities to check more if this could be a data issue. These are built-in tools used to validate whether your file is in good shape and fix common issues. Uninstalling and Reinstall the QuickBooks Desktop is no need in the process.
Here's how to Verify:
If there is data damage in the file, run the Rebuild Data Utilities to correct the problem. Please follow the step below.
For additional information, you can check this article: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop. This provides an overview of how to check for the remaining data damage issue.
I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Support Team if the problem continues to occur. They have the tools to pull your account and investigate the cause of the issue.

Thanks ChristieAnn for your reply. I verified my data and no error message occurred. I feel like this is going to be one of those "bugs" that has no resolution. QB Desktop 2020 has been nothing but a headache since upgrading to it. I will attempt to call again (the articles I was emailed last time I called were in regards to downloading transactions from the bank...clearly not my issue).
Did you ever get an answer? I am having the same issue with transactions not appearing for matching even though they are in the register.
Thank you for joining the thread, @justcarly.

Hi, that was super un-helpful! I am having the exact same issue as the original poster in this thread. When I attempt to "match to existing transaction" from the bank feeds center, none of my register transactions show up for me to match to. They are not previously reconciled or matched elsewhere, and they're definitely in the same quickbooks account I have the bank feed running to.
Thanks for getting back to this thread, @justcarly.

Same issue here and it seems unresolved 18+ months later. Did all the suggested canned advice, verified latest updates, data verification and rebuild, Tool Hub Quick Fix, all with no success. File Doctor didn't find anything wrong.
Would appreciate any useful advise or at least get this reported to the programming staff so that can fix the bug!

Same issue. For me, it started in October when QB required users of 2020 Desktop Pro with a web connect to Bank of America (and other institutions) to recreate the online bank feeds to "Bank of America-New". After doing that "Register Mode" downloads would not work and a message pops up to switch to reconciling bank feeds from "Register Mode" to "Express Mode". That allowed new transactions to be downloaded, however when you try to reconcile them, for example to previously entered bills that have been paid, those unreconciled bills do not show up to be matched. They are in the bank register as unmatched, but they just don't show up in the ExpressMode Recon.
Hello, @zero_kelvin. Let's sort this out to show unmatched bank transactions.
I can share with you some information about transactions not showing up when trying to do a match in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
When you can't find a match to your downloaded transactions, it could be because of the following reasons:
To prevent this from happening, you can:
For now, I'd suggest creating a test file. This is to check if the issue is with your company file or the .qbo file. See if you can import your transactions into a new company file.
If you can import the file, go back to your original file and reset them.
However, if you couldn't see transactions in the test company file, the issue is likely with the .qbo file from your bank. That said, reach out to your bank for help getting the right file. Banks and financial institutions that use Web Connect know how to handle these types of issues.
For more information about the steps above, check out this article: Fix Web Connect import errors.
