Starting in September of 2019, quickbooks stopped updating my bank information from first national bank. When I click the edit button my my bank account (in quickbooks) I type in my current online bank login information, but it won't connect to the bank account and gives me a code 101. (which I believe means it can't connect to the server.) I called my bank and they claim it is not a problem on their end. Is anyone having this problem?
Yes I checked to make sure that my login information is updated and current. So I'm not sure why quickbooks doesn't recognize it.
Also I called in for support and talked to them for an hour. It did not help because they didn't understand the problem.
I appreciate that you've performed steps ahead, Tonya101.
We can perform other troubleshooting steps to get rid of the banking error 101 and get the most recent available bank transactions. Let's also check if the issue isn't caused by any browser-related issue.
If you updated anything on your bank’s website, like your account number, username, or password, update QuickBooks as well. Good job that you tried to update it. If it didn't save, we can log in to QuickBooks and update your bank info through a private browser. This prevents from storing cache files that causes unexpected behaviors in QuickBooks. Also, open a new tab to access your bank's website and see if you can log in without errors.
I can help you manage your bank downloaded transactions, akalata.
It's possible that you manually imported the transactions or using the WebConnect feature, instead of connecting them into QuickBooks through online banking. If you've directly connected your bank, you'll see the Update option.
If our software supports your bank, you can directly connect it. This way, you don't have to manually import the transactions to keep your bank feeds updated. For the difference how it looks like when you directly or manually connect your bank, I've provided a few screenshots below for your reference.
Once you've identified how you connected your bank and the transactions are already in your bank feeds, you can check out these articles that will help manage them:
