ACH transfer fee

Hi,

QB noob here.    I was under the the impression that ACH bank transfers were free.  I’m seeing a “Business to business ACH intuit pymt solution transfer fee” pop up on my bank statement.  I understand that credit and other lines incur a fee.  I’m on the $10 a month plan and thought that transfer option was free.  Was I mistaken?

ACH transfer fee

Hello there, theDMG.

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community. I'm here to help provide additional clarification about using QuickBooks Payments.

I can see here that the product attached on this thread is QuickBooks Online. Using this product will allow you to use Bank Transfer (ACH) for free.

We only charge the fee if you use the ACH method with QuickBooks Desktop. For more details about the amount, you can visit the link I recommend below:

https://quickbooks.intuit.com/payments/ach-payments-and-echecks/.

If you're using the Online version, you can reach out to our Payment Support to verify the charge. You can reach out to them through this link:

https://community.intuit.com/browse/payments-contact-us.

Please reach out to me here should you have additional questions. I'm always available to talk about the charge.

ACH transfer fee

It looks like a 1% fee (up to $10) is now charged for ACH payments.  When did this change occur?  Is there any way to keep the old plan?

Thanks,

Jay

ACH transfer fee

Hello there, Jay,

The 1% fee (max $10) for each ACH payment was implemented last May. This is the time when the next-day deposits feature was launched. With this, there isn't currently a way to go back to the old plan.

For more details about this change and the current rates, you can read through these helpful articles:

I'll take note of your idea about keeping the old plan. Rest assured, our product engineers can consider it for future updates. I'd suggest checking out this article to learn more about getting paid 2X faster using the new QuickBooks Online Payment Portal: Enable Faster Customer Payment

If I can be of further assistance, I'm just a comment away. Take care always, Jay.

ACH transfer fee

ACH/Bank transfers/eChecks used to be $.50. But, I received an email that stated the "ACH/Bank transfers" will now cost $3 each -- a 500% increase?!? So, what's the most cost-efficient way to obtain payments from clients -- plastic?

Thank you for posting, @KMERRITT.

Our rate per transaction for ACH bank transfer is now 1% (max $10). Here are our other rates per transaction:

  •  Card – Swiped - 2.4% + 25¢
  •  Card – Invoiced - 2.4% + 25¢
  •  Card – Keyed - 3.4% + 25¢

Check the following link for more information about our rates per transaction: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/payments/ach-echecks/. Also, let me share the article about common questions about payments deposits in QuickBooks Online for future reference.

You can also reach our Payments Support team to verify the email that you've received. You can get their phone number by going to this article: Contact Payments Support

Let us know if there's anything that you need. I'm always here to assist. Have a wonderful day!
