Transactions re-downloaded from the bank is one possible reason why cleared transactions reappear in the register. You can review and delete duplicate entries to fix the bank balance.
Make sure to create a backup copy of your company file before doing any troubleshooting steps. Also, the Classic Mode under Bank feeds must be enabled to delete bank transactions. I’d be glad to show you how:
1. Go to the Edit menu.
2. Click on Preferences.
3. Select Checking.
4. Under Company Preferences, select Classic Mode (Register Mode) and click On.
Once done, you can now go ahead and delete the re-downloaded transactions.Here’s how:
1. Go to Banking.
2. Select Bank Feeds then Bank Feed Center.
3. Select the bank transaction you wanted to delete.
If the duplicate transactions or any modifications affect the previous year's balance, you can do mini-reconciliation to fix it.
