I've completely screwed up our checking account. So now when I try to reconcile my account the beginning balance is wrong. I've already gone back several months and undid the last reconciliation and holy crap they are all wrong!
How can I fix this?
Can I just go in there and adjust it some how and start off fresh from today forward?
That happens to me when I import my banking and some of it was already there for some reason it doesn't read it correctly or I inadvertently deleted something from the account. Try verifying your data and see what that comes up with. If you have backups you can restore as well. I always backup after every bank balancing. Does your check register show the right balance?
