Hello, @CHCC2003.
QuickBooks Self-Employed has an option to categorize the transaction into charitable donation or charity.
Let's go to the Transactions page, then locate the data that you want to categorize. Then under Category and Tags, choose Charity. See the sample screenshots below for your reference:
You can always access the Business and personal expenses report by going to the Report tab. This way, you can review the data you've entered into your account.
Please browse through these articles about the new name of categories and how to manage your business.

Thank you for your response, MichelleBh.
I do not have those options when I search.
Try signing in to QuickBooks Self-Employed via browser - https://selfemployed.intuit.com/login
Then follow those steps above. Some of the features are just not available in the app.
Thanks for your reply in helping me. I did go to the web browser, and still no option. My last screenshot is from the web browser.
Thank you for the clarification, CHCC2003,
Since you're unable to see this category on both the mobile app and web, I recommend reaching out to our QuickBooks Self-Employed support. They have the ability to check your account and verify why you're unable to see this category.
Here's how:
For additional information, you can click this article: Contact QuickBooks Self-Employed Support. This provides details on how you can contact QBSE support using the app.

Thank you for your response, Mary. That was my first try. The woman I talked to sent me a link saying that I need to create an invoice and an account for charitable donations. She was not all that helpful. Going to the community chat board was my second option. Maybe I will try again though... Thank you, and happy holidays :)
So I just did some playing around. I can choose gift and gift & donations if it is categorized as personal, but not business.
Thanks for following up with the Community, CHCC2003.
I'm happy to hear my colleague was able to help. Once you follow MaryLurleenM's steps to get in touch with our Customer Care Team, they'll be able to pull your account up in a secure environment, conduct further research, and create an investigation ticket if necessary.
The Community's also here to support you if there's any additional questions. Please feel more than welcome in making a post anytime. Enjoy the rest of your day!
So, there is no resolution to this problem? I also cannot add a donation via my business in Quickbooks.
So, there has been no resolution to this issue? I also cannot add a donation to 'charity' when it is classified as 'business'.
Thank you for joining this thread, anchorsoap.
QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) is a special version of QuickBooks built especially for freelancers, independent contractors, and service-based entrepreneurs. It's main focus is recording business-related transactions to account for your federal and estimated taxes calculation.
As of now, the option to add charitable donation is unavailable since QBSE isn't a double-entry bookkeeping program.
You can consider subscribing to QuickBooks Online (QBO), which allows you to create accounts and track charitable donations. If in doubt, you can also take advantage of the trail account for QBO. Here's a link form ore details: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/pricing/
If you'd like to learn more about the features in QuickBooks Self-Employed. I'd recommend checking out this QBSE Help Articles.
Let me know if you still have other questions in mind. I'll be here to assist. Have a great week!
