I can tag the column and make it wider still, but not narrower.

I can help you in adjusting the column of your report, @finance139.

You can simply click on the column boarder until you see the scale width icon. You can drag the icon to adjust the width for your NUM column from there.

You can choose to widen up the entire column up to a certain space. However, the space that you can narrow it up is limited. It's usually based on how lengthy the Sales Receipt No. or Invoice No. that you set.

I have the same problem.  I can increase the width of the Amount column so that it doesn't split over 2 lines, but when I print or export to pdf, it goes back to the original width and splits numbers over 2 lines.

I can help you sort this out, @kbofoz.

To isolate this issue, let's make sure you have an updated Adobe Reader version. This program is used for printing files from your computer, like reports in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

To update its release version, you can check this link for detailed instructions: Install updates for Acrobat and Reader. Once done, print your account quick report again.

If you get the same result, let's try to repair the installation of Adobe Reader to fix the printing alignment issues. Let me show you how:

  1. Close the Acrobat Reader and all open browsers on your computer.
  2. Click the Start button in the lower left-hand corner of your screen.
  3. Type Control Panel in the search box, and then press Enter on your keyboard.
  4. Select Programs and Features.
  5. Click Acrobat or Adobe Reader, and then select Uninstall/Change.
  6. Select Next in the Setup dialog box.
  7. Click RepairNext, and then select Install.
  8. Select Finish when the repair is complete.
  9. Restart your computer.

After that, sign in to your QBO account and try to print the report.

Also, in case you might want to memorize reports, you can read this article for your future reference: Memorize Reports.

Thanks for trying to help, Maybelle.

So, your explanation implies that the pdf preview that QBO generates depends on Adobe Reader.

To be clearer than I was, the column width is OK in the generated report, then it gets reduced in the pdf preview generated by QBO, before Adobe gets involved.

The problem is in the pdf generated by QBO, not in the reader.

My version of Adobe is up to date.  Reading with pdf Xchange has the same result, of course, since the problem is in the generated pdf.
