Can someone help me with my reconciliation issue? I have transactions showing up in the Reconcile Discrep Report as deleted, but are still in the chart of accounts.

My beginning balance is incorrect, less the amount that is showing up as deleted in the Reconciliation Discrepancy Report. If you add those 2 numbers together, I would have the correct Bank Statement Beginning Balance. I did initially delete these 5 transactions and added them back in, as they show up as cleared in the Register. But I am unsure how to remove the deleted ones in the Discrepancy Report, which is preventing me to reconcile with the correct beginning balance.

Hello @userjamiehenry,

 

You can manually reconcile back your deleted transaction so they'll be removed from your discrepancy report and you can proceed with your reconciliation. Let me show you how.

  1. Go to Accounting.
  2. Select Chart of Accounts.
  3. Find the bank account where you wish to reconcile.
  4. Under ACTION, select View register.
  5. Choose those said deleted transactions.
  6. Select Edit.
  7. Put under the Checkmark column.
  8. Click Save.

Thanks! I have already done this and the deleted transactions are still in the discrepancy report. Any other ways to move past this?

Thanks for posting an update here about your reconciliation, @userjamiehenry,

 

Have you tried closing the Reconcile page after making the changes? This way the entries and balances are updated when you resume the reconciliation.

 

You can also try opening your account in private browsing. This will help us check if this is caused by the large data in the cache. Your browsing activity will constantly stacks up without deleting the old stuff, which will likely cause QuickBooks to function poorly.

 

The private window will not save any history making it a good place to identify browser problems. To start incognito mode, use these keyboard shortcuts:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl Shift N  
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: press Command Shift N

If you no longer see this alert in private browsing, clear the browser's cache. This will help delete the history of the browser, so you can start in a clean slate. 

 

If the same thing happens, I recommend contacting our Support Team. Reach us during our support hours from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays and 6:00 AM til 3:00 PM on Saturdays.

  1. Go to the Help menu then select Contact us.
  2. Enter the keyword Banking, Account Management and Billing in the What can we help you with? box.
  3. On the next screen, scroll down to the Choose a way to connect with us section.
  4. Choose Start messaging to initiate a discussion with a live agent or Get a call for callbacks.
  5. When using the messaging option, make sure to enable pop-up windows. The chat box will appear at the bottom right section of your monitor, and an agent will be with you after filling in the information needed. See this:

When you're connected, provide all the information about your concern or request a viewing session with out representative.
