Capital One bank feed

I have been completely unable to connect to Capital One Bank or credit card feeds for the last 6-8 weeks.  This is not the old problem, but a new, never-before seen issue which is affecting only one customer.  Any attempt to connect to Capital One or set up the feed as a new account simply crashes QuickBooks completely.  I've run verify and rebuild, repaired the program from the control panel, run the program repair tool from the tool hub, and attempted the installation repair tools from the tool hub.  The last one creates an error code:  Can't create output file ...file path... QBinstallv2finishscreen.exe.  Any ideas?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, based off of your description of what's going on, I definitely recommend reaching out to our support team, they will be able to guide you through the setting up process, and see the error that's occurring. They can diagnose the issue and fix it with you on the phone. To reach them follow these steps:

 

Open your QuickBooks Desktop to connect with us.

  1. Open QuickBooks.
  2. Go to Help, then select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  3. Select Contact Us.
  4. Enter your concern, then select Continue.
  5. Choose a way to connect with us:
    • Post a question and get an answer from expert and other customers.
    • Start messaging with a support expert.
    • Get a callback from an expert (availability may be limited).

Chat with us online

Select your product and fill out the form to chat with an expert.

Hi @valprice1 , a workaround you could download the bank transaction manually from your bank account (website) then import it to qb. Here a link for easier importing data : https://transactionpro.grsm.io/qbo . Glad to assist you.

The program doesn't throw an error message - it simply aborts.  The support team was unable to help - I was hoping someone in the community might have a solution.

Unfortunately, that work-around doesn't work with Capital One Banking, only with the credit card side.  They only allow download of a CSV file for bank transactions, so I'd have to have an IIF converter (like the one you provided a link to). 

 

At this point, that isn't worth the trouble or the expense.  Fortunately, this client is leaving Capital One soon.
