Citibank Web Connect not showing description

Hi all,


When using Web Connect to download by Citi Business transactions I'm only getting the top line of the description so I don't know what is what...see attached files.  Have I set the Web Connect up for Citi incorrectly?

Greetings, cd_albert.

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community. I’m here to help determine what’s on top of the Description line.

To single out the issue, let’s download and save the .qbo file to your Desktop. From there, right-click your mouse and select Open with Excel.

Then review the download for common errors. Make sure to delete the invalid characters like ampersands (&) and other invalid character strings. You can either add or edit the missing data. If the transactions are properly mapped, then save the .qbo file and import it again.


To visually guide you through the process, check on this link and go directly to the Review the web connect (.qbo) download for obvious errors section.

If none of these suggestions work, I recommend contacting your financial institution for help with mapping the transactions correctly. I'm also adding an article with detailed list of file types you can bring into QuickBooks: Import/export overview.


Upon giving them a call, I’m confident the downloaded file will show all the bank details.

OK I'll give them a call, navigating to the right person at Citibank will be a challenge though I'd say.  Thanks for your help!
