The Citizens Bank Credit Card site is down for maintenance.

Try connecting again in a few hours. (105)

This has been an issue for several weeks now, I can log into their website with no problems and can download a report.qfx file and then import it into quickbooks, but the connection fails.

Citizen Bank Credit Card not syncing

Hi there, dnoblett.

I appreciate you sharing with us the steps you’ve taken to get the most updated banking transactions in QuickBooks Online. Let me share some information about the error you encountered.

The error “The Citizens Bank Credit Card site is down for maintenance. Try connecting again in a few hours. (105)” is a known issue when connecting with QuickBooks Online. Our product team is diligently working with your bank to get a fix on this unexpected behavior as early as possible.

While they’re continuing to work on solving the issue, you can manually bring in transactions using our WebConnect feature. Here’s how:
1.    Download your transactions from your bank’s website.
2.    Login to your QuickBooks Online account.
3.    Click Banking on the left menu.
4.    Choose Banking at the top then click File Upload. If you’ve never connected an account, select Upload transactions manually at the bottom of the screen.
5.    Select Browse to find and select the file to upload.
6.    Select Open and then click Next.
7.    Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
8.    Select Let’s go! (or Finish) to return to the Banking page and begin reviewing your bank transactions and accept them into QuickBooks Online.

For more information, you can check out this article about WebConnect: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/community/Banking-and-bank-feeds/How-to-upload-more-than-90-days-of-ba....

In the meantime, I’d also suggest reaching out to our Customer Care Team to add your account to the list of affected users. This way, you’ll be notified of any updates on the progress of the investigation.

You can find our phone support updated number through this link: https://community.intuit.com/articles/1145770.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. Feel free to reach out to me if you need anything else. I’m always here to help.

Hello there, @viprides.

The error 105 means that QuickBooks Online is unable to connect with your financial institution's website at the moment. This error can be usually fixed by running a manual update.

To do that:

  1. Click on Banking at the left pane.
  2. Select the account.
  3. Hit Update
  4. If prompted, enter your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) credentials.
  5. Press Continue update.

If the problem continues after 72 hours, I suggest contacting our Customer Care Team. They have the tools like the remote-viewing session that can help verify the root cause of this issue and can open an investigation ticket if necessary.

To reach them:

  1. Click on Help at the top menu bar.
  2. Hit on the Contact Us button.
  3. Enter a brief description of the issue in the What can we help you with? box.
  4. Press on Let's talk.
  5. Select on Get a callback.
  6. Key in your contact details, then tap on Confirm my call.

I've had nothing but problems with connecting my Citizens bank accounts for years.  It'll work once in a while... then not at all, even though my login and password haven't changed.  Citizens Bank has no answer, says it's QB's fault.  Super frustrating!  Please help!

@cinda1212

Utilize the trial version of MT Online to isolate the issue. It is designed to import into any bank or credit card in QuickBooks Online, so there is no specific setting needed. If the same error persists, there is an ongoing problem at your bank.
