Disable bank feed error Desktop 2017

I am trying to disable a bank feed in my Desktop 2017 version so that I can import my bank files without upgrading to a newer version. When I go to my Chart of Accounts and try to edit the bank account I get two error messages when I try to Deactivate Online Services, the first says that my EIN is not valid (we use a SSN so don't have an EIN entered anywhere in QBs). When I close that window another pops up saying Invalid Customer ID, I've tried to edit the Customer ID but it won't let me make any changes. I tried to Rebuild my data based on a suggestion from a chat with QBs support, but when the Rebuild is complete and I try to view the issues it says that it can't reach the page. Any suggestions on what else I can try?!

Disable bank feed error Desktop 2017

Welcome to the Community, @birdsfootnursery.

Thank you for choosing QuickBooks as your partner in business. Let me share some information about the QuickBooks Discontinuation policy.

Last May 31, 2020, the access to add-on services will be discontinued for QuickBooks Desktop for Windows 2017. This includes all versions of QuickBooks Desktop Pro, Premier, and Enterprise Solutions 2017.

Also, the access to QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Services, Online Backup, Online Banking, and other services through QuickBooks Desktop 2017 software will be discontinued.

However, you can manually import your bank transaction into your QuickBooks Desktop.

Here’s how.

  1. On your browser, log into your financial institution and select the account you wish to work with.
  2. Click the Download button in the menu bar.
  3. Under Download Range, always select “Since Last Download”, or be sure to track your download date ranges so that you do not duplicate transactions in QuickBooks Desktop. Also, select “Intuit QuickBooks (IIF) Format.
  4. Launch the QuickBooks Desktop software.
  5. Click File
  6. Select Utilities
  7. Click import.
  8. Select IIF Files.
  9. Browse to the IIF file that you downloaded from your bank and select it.
  10. Follow the on-screen prompts and your transaction data will be imported.

If you get the same results, I recommend upgrading to the latest version of QuickBooks Desktop. This way, you can continue importing your transaction from your financial institution thru Online Banking.

I’m adding here an article for additional information about QuickBooks discontinuation policy and for upgrading to the latest version of QuickBooks:

Please let me know if you need further assistance with banking feeds in QuickBooks Desktop. Take care.
