Re-establishing Bank Accounts

I want to re-establish my Bank Accounts in QuickBooks Online Accountant. I tried deleting all of my transactions (someone told me this would be the way to do it), but this didn't work.

I then was told to disconnect my online bank accounts - which makes sense, but now I have balances in the existing accounts that I want to clear / zero out before making those accounts inactive so I can re-establish my online bank connections - how do I do this?

Re-establishing Bank Accounts

You'll have the option to delete the transactions, Selye.

If you don't need those transactions anymore, we can manually delete them. Here's how:

  1. From the Accounting tab, select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Locate the account, and then click View register.
  3. Select the transaction, and then select Delete.

However if those are valid transactions ans you want to classify them to a different account, we can reclassify them. Let me guide you with these steps:

  1. Click the Accountant tools button.
  2. Select Reclassify transactions.
  3. Select the ACCOUNT.
  4. Click the box (select all) beside the DATE column.
  5. Click Reclassify.
  6. Select the account.

Afterwards, you can make those accounts inactive. You can do it by clicking the Accounting tab, and then selecting Chart of Accounts. Then, locate and click the View register drop-down of the account, and then select Make inactive.

You can check this article once you're ready to re-establish the bank connection: Connect your bank account.

I'm just around if you still need help!
