Hi there, steven-ruiz-crow.
As mentioned by @gayatriluthfias20, you can just transfer the money out from the created envelope. I'd be glad to walk you through the steps on how to do it:
You can learn more details about taking money out of an envelope in this article.
I'm also including these Cash Flow-related links for additional guide and reference:

I should mention I am using the Desktop version for Windows 10. So I created the Envelopes with no money and did not connect them with a bank account. I did what you told me to by removing the name of the Envelope and then saving. When I do this I get and as shown in the attachment.

Hi there, @steven-ruiz-crow!
It would be a good idea to run the Verify/Rebuild tool. This tool allows QuickBooks to self-identify data integrity issues that can cause unusual behaviors and helps resolve them.
Follow the steps below on how to verify data:
Next, here's how to rebuild data:
Then, update your QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release from our official website.
QuickBooks also offers budgeting and forecasting tools to help you plan and make smart business decisions.
Please let me know how it goes or if you have any follow-up questions. I'll be here if you need further assistance. Just leave a comment below.
I am so sorry, but this is driving me crazy. I am trying to get rid of this unused account from the Chart of Accounts. There is no balance or transactions at all in the register. As far as I can tell this account has never been used. I want to delete this account. I followed the instructions below and I don't see anywhere to click for "Envelopes section." What can I do to get rid of this account?
When I try to deactivate this account, I receive this message:
Error
You can't delete this account as it is used as default for one of the sales lines.
Sales lines from what? The error code is not descriptive enough. I looked at the Products & Services, but nothing seems to be linked there under the Sales item. I ran a report for this account directly from the COA, using All Dates and there isn't anything there either.
One of the most frustrating things about QuickBooks Online is the inability to get rid of certain accounts that we never use from the COA. The biggest one being Sales of Product Income. I will delete it from my clients' COA and it always comes back! So frustrating! These clients do not sell products. And this happens with all my clients' QBO accounts. Inventory Asset is another one. Intuit should not be in charge of what we want to see on a COA, except for the Uncategorized Asset account. That account should only be used for the Bank Feeds default, I understand. Intuit won't even allow me to change the Uncategorized Expense or Uncategorized Income accounts to be OTHER Expense/Income account types! These accounts also have to remain as is because of Bank Feeds, which is not right. Intuit only needs one account to accomplish this goal--the Uncategorized Asset account should suffice.
I am sorry if I am coming across as a little heated, but I have left feedback about this issue many times over the years, and nothing ever changes. This is not an issue in QuickBooks Desktop. Why is it an issue on QB Online? To be able to charge people more for going over their limits? There are certain accounts that you can deactivate, but it won't change the limits. Why is that? And I'm sorry, you don't have to answer all of these questions, since this section is about the QuickBooks Cash account. I am happy just figuring out how we can get rid of this from my client's COA.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I truly appreciate it! :)
Greetings, @smoran0727.
Thanks for chiming in on this thread and welcome to the Community. Allow me to give you some information about this subject.
The error message that you're receiving is due to a transaction still being attached to the account. Any invoice or payment that was attached to the account or any product that is issues to that account will prevent the account from being deleted.
I'll send feedback to our Product Developers so they can take a look into this to consider updating the product more. You can keep up with what's new in the product by visiting our Blog site.
If you have any other questions or concerns, don't hesitate to ask. I'm only a post away if you need me. Have a wonderful day!
