How to reconcile after condensing company file?

Hello, @EL34.

It’s my priority that you’re able to reconcile your account. You’ll need to review the Reconciliation Discrepancy account for inappropriate adjustments.

Let me guide you on how to fix the issues with reconciling:

Step 1:

Review your opening and beginning balances.

Step 2:

Look for changed, deleted or added transactions.

Run a Reconciliation Discrepancy Report; this report shows any transactions that were changed since your last reconciliation.

  1. Go to the Reports menu. Hover over Banking and find Reconciliation Discrepancy.
  2. Select the account you're reconciling and then choose OK.
  3. Review the report. Look for any discrepancies.
  4. Edit the transaction as needed.

Step 3:

Look for reconciliation adjustments.

Here’s a helpful article about issues when you’re reconciling in QuickBooks Desktop:

If you have any further questions, let me know. I’m here to help anytime.

How to reconcile after condensing company file?

Thank you for reaching back out, @EL34.

It’s helpful that you provided a screenshot. There are a few options to get those transactions back.

Here’s how:

  1. Click Reports.
  2. Choose the Accountant and Taxes.
  3. Find Voided/Deleted Transaction detail
  4. Zero in on the date of the deleted transaction and the re-enter the transaction.

You may also Restore a backup copy of your QuickBooks file and locate the transaction.

Then you can re-enter those details into your live QuickBooks file.

Note: Be extremely careful that you don’t restore your backup copy over top of your live data file.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

How to reconcile after condensing company file?

Hello again, @EL34.

Since the Condense Data utility converts transactions into a journal entry, the items from December will not appear in the Reconcile window. As my colleague mentioned earlier, you may want to consider restoring a back-up copy.

Alternatively, there's also the option of using a journal entry to make a reconcile adjustment for December. Should you be unsure about the creation of an adjustment, I recommend contacting your accountant for guidance.

I'm just a post away if I can be of additional assistance. Take care.

How to reconcile after condensing company file?

I can't restore a backup copy

I have had 100's of transactions since 01/01/2020

None of this was mentioned in the Quickbooks guide to condensing a company file
This is only one of the problems
The average pricing on items was totally screwed up also after the condense
