I am an India working in a US company. I don't have an SSN but I have a US bank account. How do I receive payments on Quickbooks?

I am an Indian citizen from Mumbai and I work remotely for a company that is based in Miami, FL. The company that I work for uses Intuit and Quickbooks for payroll management. My employer sent me a link to signup on Quickbooks. I have created a US bank account(using Aeldra) and I would like to receive the payments there. Since I don't hae an SSN everytime my employer sends me the payment its failed becuase my W9 details does not watch with the Federal records. What do I do in this case? Do I have to create an account in Indian Quickbooks version?

Afaik, you don't required to complete the Form W-9 , but Form W-8. If you are located in India, you may also open a Wise account to deal with multi currency transactions. It supports QBSE/QBO.

Thanks for dropping by the Community, vikram3.

I recognize how important for you to receive payments smoothly and use the correct account.

In addition to @Fiat Lux - ASIA answer, the IRS Form W-9 is used by individuals when they’re working as a freelancer or independent contractor. It's also important the Taxpayer Identification Number or Social Security Number we have on file must be correct. This is to ensure you can process the taxes and forms seamlessly.

Since you’re working remotely in India, I suggest contacting your employer for further assistance. They can check for guidance on how to handle this situation with a tax adviser. This way, you’ll receive payments without any issues.
