I changed my account from Self-Employed to Simple Start and my data is not accessible. How to I transfer or create a handshake?

I've got steps on how to transfer your QuickBooks Self-Employed data to QuickBooks Online, highforestconcre.

We'll need to export your data from QBSE and import it into the QBO version. Please keep in mind that you can no longer go back to QBSE once you switch to QBO. I'll walk you through the process for conversion. Here's how:

  1. In QBSE, select Transactions from the navigation bar.
  2. Select the transaction types, accounts, and time period you want to download from the drop-down menus.
  3. Select the option to Download Transaction into a CSV file icon at the top of the transaction list.
  4. Open QuickBooks Simple Start Company.
  5. Select Banking from the navigation bar.
  6. Choose Upload File and click Browse to the location of your saved CSV file of downloaded QBSE transactions.
  7. Match the statement fields from the CSV with the ones in QuickBooks Online. Then select Next.
  8. Select the transactions you want to move to QuickBooks Online. Then select Next.
  9. Select Yes, then select Let’s go.

You can learn more details about switching from QuickBooks Self-Employed to QuickBooks Online in this article.

With the following steps, you'll be able to move your data from QBSE to QBO in no time.
