I deleted 3 linked bank accounts, because old transactions weren't importing properly - then I re-created them. Now the year-end P&L is displaying #s from both sets! ARGH

I'm here to provide some insight, @payments6.

When making an account inactive in your Chart of Accounts, it does not delete the transactions within. You must remove the transactions from within these accounts to prevent their figures from showing on your reports. I've included the steps for re-activating the inactive accounts below so that you can remove those transactions. Take a look:

  1. Click Accounting on the left navigation menu and choose Chart of Accounts.
  2. Select the small Gear icon above the Action column and choose Include inactive.
  3. Click Make active next to the inactive account.

That's it! Now you can delete the transactions within the register.

If you have any other questions for me, hit that Reply button below and I'll make sure you're taken care of. Have a great night!

Thank you, Michael!

I'm doing that now ... but there are a LOT of transactions to delete. :(  Is there any way to do a batch deletion?

Hello Grace,

The option to delete multiple transactions in the bank register is unavailable. You will have to delete them one at a time.

I'll be sure to forward your request to our product engineers. They are the ones who update QuickBooks and might include this option in the future.

You can visit our blog by clicking on this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/blog/. This is where you can see the new features added in QuickBooks Online.

Please let us know if you have additional suggestions or other concerns. Thanks.
