Hi, userazzimo.

 

Allow me to help point you in the right direction who can assist you with reviewing your CSV file.

 

Since you've downloaded the CSV file from Wells Fargo, I suggest getting in touch with your bank to have this investigated. QuickBooks depends on the information provided to us by the financial institution.

 

Also, I recommend reviewing your data first before importing them into the system to ensure there no missing and duplicate transactions. You can refer to this article for the detailed steps and instructions: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

 

Once imported, I recommend editing, assigning, and categorizing your transactions. Also, you can match them to the existing entries in the software as well as a link to reconcile your account. Just go to the For Review tab from the Banking menu. Doing so will help you ensure the accuracy of your financial records.

Wells Fargo only has downloadable files into csv for last 3 months. So anything over 3 months is missing!!

No need to ask them I found it out on their site.

 

Now i notice duplicate transactions are a problem. I would think quickbooks has enough intelligence to disregard duplicate transactions. Dumb SW.

Transactions received by QuickBooks depend on the data provided by your bank. If there are duplicate transactions in your register after the download, we can exclude them. 

 

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. In the Banking section, select the For Review tab.
  3. Check the boxes of the duplicate transactions.
  4. Click on Batch actions and select Exclude Selected.

All of these duplicates will be transferred to the Excluded tab. If you wish to delete them, go to the Excluded tab and check the boxes of the transactions. Then, select Batch actions and Delete.
