I'll you find your deposited transaction in QuickBooks, @dave134.

We can open your bank register and search it from there. Let me show you how:

  1. Go to the Accounting menu and select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Look for the bank account where the transaction is deposited and select View register.
  3. Use the Funnel icon to filter the dates. This way, it would be easy for you to locate the transaction.
  4. Click Apply to apply the changes.

Also, you can use the Advanced Search feature in QuickBooks Online to easily find your deposited transaction.

In addition, you can run the Deposit Detail report. This will show you the details of your deposits, with the date, customer or vendor, and amount. Just go to Reports and search for the Deposit Detail report.

I'm always here to help if you have any other concerns or questions. Just tag my name in the comment section and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

For some reason, I could not find the deposit in the way that you suggested, so I wonder if I somehow just deleted it completely?

So, I just went in and recreated it manually in my check register and we are all good now.

Thanks, Dave

I'm happy that you appreciate the help given by my colleague, @dave134.

In addition, you can use the Audit Log to check and confirm if you have deleted the transaction.

Here's how to use the Audit Log:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then select Audit Log.
  2. Select Filter, then use the fields on the Filter panel to choose the appropriate UserDate, or Events filter to narrow the results.
  3. Click on  Apply.

The Audit Log will display 150 records at a time. You can also see who made the change and what they did by clicking View in the History column.

For audit and security reasons, you can't disable the audit log.

Once you delete a transaction, there's no way to restore it. Using the Audit Log, however, you can recover the details of the deleted transaction so you can re-enter it. See this article for the step-by-step process: Use the audit log to re-enter deleted transactions.
