I have $21k in uncleared transactions left after successfully reconciling my checking account. Many seem to be duplicates / deposits that I split. How can I get to zero?

I have $21k in uncleared transactions left after successfully reconciling my checking account. Many seem to be duplicates / deposits that I split. How can I get to zero?

There are three ways to remove these transactions based on how they were entered, JK12.

If these are online banking transactions, we can directly undo and exclude them in the banking section.

Here's how:

  1. Click Banking on the left panel.
  2. From the Banking page, go to the In QuickBooks tab.
  3. Make sure to select the correct bank account.
  4. Find the downloaded transactions that you want to remove.
  5. To undo the transactions by batch, check the tick boxes on the left.
  6. Click the Undo button at the top.

To exclude:

  1. Click Banking on the left panel.
  2. Go to the For Review tab.
  3. Check the boxes for the transactions that need to be removed.
  4. Click the Batch actions button at the top.
  5. Select Exclude selected.

If these are regular transactions which were entered manually in QBO, you'll have to delete them one by one.

Here's how:

  1. Click Accounting on the left panel.
  2. Select Chart of Accounts.
  3. Find the checking account you reconciled.
  4. Click the View register link below the ACTION column.
  5. Select the transactions on the list and click the Delete button.
