Good day, @mail35.
Let me help you with your banking concerns in QuickBooks Online.
The banks showing on the Banking page are the accounts that are connected to QuickBooks. They will also show in the Banking menu if you have imported banking transactions even if they aren't connected.
If your account isn't connected or doesn't have uploaded files on it, then this will only show in the Chart of Accounts. However, you can connect it to QuickBooks to view it on the Banking screen. Let me show you how:
You can also upload your transactions manually without connecting them to QuickBooks. Doing this will let you see the bank from the Banking page.
Once your transactions are downloaded, it's time to match and categorize them. They will go directly into your accounts after you review them.
Let me know how else I can help you with QuickBooks by adding a comment below. I'm more than happy to lend a helping hand. Keep safe!
Thanks for the reply,
but that doesn.t work.
The Bank is "transferwise.com" it's not listed in the Quickbooks online links.
I managed to link a German bank account that was not listed and it shows, I just can't remember how I did that.
Thanks for the reply,
but that doesn't work.
The bank is "transferwise.com" and it's not listed in the quickbooksonline accounts link.
I have the bank already in my accounts with values entered 2 years back, it would be just easier
if I could see it in the menu.
Thanks for getting back to us, mail35. I know a way on how you can access your bank and make it visible through the banking page.
Have you tried linking your account using the bank's URL? If not, you can go through the following steps below to connect it:
If you have tried all the options matching your bank's name and still can't connect, or if your bank doesn’t appear, you can submit a request to add the Transferwise to the list of supporting banks. QuickBooks and your Financial Institution will work closely to provide a seamless connection.
Alternatively, if you still can't link your bank, as a workaround, you can bring in the transactions using a WebConnect file.
You can download the last 90 days of transactions using this feature. This way, your account (Transferwise) will be accessible and visible with other banks through the banking page. Here's how:
Step 1: Pick a start date:
Step 2: Get transactions from your bank:
To complete this procedure, you can refer to this article (proceed to Step 3): Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online. On the same write-up, you'll find links on how to set up bank rules as well as reconciling your account.
Once imported, I recommend editing, assigning, and categorizing your transactions. Also, you can match them to the existing entries in the software. Just go to the For Review tab from the Banking menu. Doing so will help you ensure the accuracy of your financial records.
I'm only a post away if you have any questions about this topic or anything else you need in QuickBooks. I'll be glad to share and provide further assistance whenever you need one. Have a wonderful day!
Did you ever figure it out? I have an account at a large U.S. Bank, and it shows up in the chart of accounts but doen't show up under the Banking screen.
Thank you for joining the thread, Ray. I'll help you with adding your account to the Banking screen.
You need to connect your account to QuickBooks Online so it will show up on the Banking page as suggested by ReymondO above. Otherwise, you can prepare an Excel CSV file for your bank transactions, then manually upload them under that account.
Here's how:
Once done, review your account and transactions from the Banking screen.
I'm also adding this link for more tips about reconciliation to keep your books and accounts intact: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

I had the same problem and was told time and time again that it was impossible. Today I FINALLY spoke to a live agent who was able to walk me through how to do this! Basically you need to upload a Excel csv file (doesn't even need to be a "real file") and then that will move the chart of account you link it to to the Banking tab.
Hopefully this makes sense:
Go to Banking > Choose "Upload from File" from the Link Account drop down menu > Under Manually Upload your Transactions select "Drag and Drop file" > Select the file I attached in this chat called 'Book1.csv' (it's basically a temporarily spreadsheet as a holding place) > Continue > Select which chart of account you want to show up on the Banking tab > Fill out the the drop down menus as: Yes, Two Columns, dd/MM/yyyy, Column 1 Date, Column 2 Description, Column 3 Deposit, Column 4 Withdrawal > Continue > Select all transitions to import > Continue > And voila! Your Chart of Account will now show up on your Banking screen :) Now just click on the transactions you imported and exclude them.
It's hard to explain on here but I hope this helps someone out, feel free to email me at [email address removed] if you have questions.
Thank you for sharing it and it helped me as well and QB told me same that it was impossible many times, but you managed it !!!
