You can use the following URL to initiate the download in Internet Explorer to export the data: http://qbo.intuit.com/app/exportqbodatatoqbdt. After that, prepare to export your QuickBooks Online data by following the steps below:

 

  1. Click the Get Started button in the Export Overview window. 
  2. Select Install under ActiveX Control Now.
  3. When it's finished, click Continue.
  4. Choose the data you want to export, then click Continue.
  5. Review the limitations and choose Continue.
  6. Enter your contact info and then click Continue.

After that, refer to this article to complete the process. From there, go directly to Step 4: Finish exporting your dataExport your QuickBooks Online data to QuickBooks Desktop.

when I click the get started button nothing happens.

Let's clear your Internet Explorer's cache so you can export your data to QuickBooks Desktop successfully.

 

Just to clarify, are you using Internet Explorer when exporting data? Or did you receive an error message upon clicking the Get Started button? Any additional information would be greatly appreciated.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Click the Gear icon in your internet explorer.
  2. Select Safety, then choose Delete browsing history...
  3. In the Delete Browsing History window, put a checkmark only for Temporary Internet files and website files.
  4. Click Delete.
