Did you make the deposit into a different Bank Account from your 'Make Deposit' Screen.

-Look in the top right hand corner of your Make Deposit screen. The field is called 'Deposit To'.

-Click the drop down arrow and make sure that you used the right account.

-Also check those other accounts and press the 'Previous' arrow above that field to see the last entry.

Make sure to either 'Revert' the transaction if it is a correct transaction.

If it is in the incorrect account, make sure to switch the account, then press 'Save & New' to save the changes you made to the transaction.

Once you change the Deposit Account to the correct account, you should see this entry on your General Ledger/QB Bank.

Hope that helps!

Let me help you sort this out, @EForbes.

If your bank account is connected to QuickBooks Online, it's possible that the deposit is not added to the bank register. You can check the Banking page to find the transaction.

Here's how:

  1. On the left pane, select Banking
  2. Select the For Review tab.
  3. From the Funnel drop-down, enter the date.
  4. Click Apply.

If the transaction is not there or if you're not using bank feeds, it's possible the transaction is deleted. Let's check the audit log to see the changes made to your books.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Select Audit Log.
  3. From the Filter drop-down, choose the appropriate Date and Events filter to narrow the results.
  4. Hit Apply.

If you get the same result, it's possible the deposit was not recorded last year. You can enter that in QuickBooks Online (QBO) by using the Bank Deposit feature, but this will affect your books for 2018. I suggest consulting an accountant for more ways to record it.

You can use the following article about adding bank deposits and methods available in QBO: How to Record Bank Deposits.

I'm just a post away if you have any other questions. I'll be happy to help you further. Have a great day ahead.
