Re: If I closed a bank account in June, and opened a different account. how do I upload?

Hi there, strictlyrepairz,

Let's go to the bank feeds and upload bank transactions from there.

First, you need to download statements from your financial institution (FI). Your FI might give you options for how to export them. Pick one of these so you can upload the file into QuickBooks Online:

  • Comma-Separated Values (CSV)
  • QuickBooks Online (QBO)
  • Quicken (QFX)

Once done, here are the steps on how to upload them to QuickBooks:

  1. Go to Banking from the left navigation menu.
  2. Select the blue tile for the account you want to upload the transactions into.
  3. Pick File upload from the Update ▼ drop-down list.

  4. If the account is not yet connected online, hit Upload transactions.
  5. Click Browse and choose the file you've downloaded from the bank, then click Next.
  6. From the QuickBooks account ▼ drop-down menu, select the account you want to upload the transactions into, then click Next.
  7. Follow onscreen instructions, then hit Next.
  8. Click Let's go whenever you're ready to add them.
  9. You can then categorize and match those transactions.

To ensure your books are accurate, reconciling them is the next thing to do. Feel free to read through this article: Reconcile an account for instructions, detailed steps, and a quick video tutorial.

I've also added this link: Remove accounts to learn how to hide a bank you no longer use in QuickBooks Online.
