Hello, @knarfhill.

The downloaded bank transactions recorded in your account's register depends on the information your bank shared with QuickBooks. You can review each of your transaction' details and compare it with your bank statement.

You can run the Transactions Details by Account report. This report displays lists of individual transactions, subtotaled by each account on your chart of accounts.

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Choose Accountant & Taxes.
  3. Select the Transaction Detail by Account.
  4. Click the Customize Report button.
  5. From the Filter tab, locate Account.
  6. Go to the Account drop-down menu.
  7. Pick the account you're having an issue with.
  8. Click Ok.
  9. Choose the Refresh button.

If the transactions' list is correct but it's still showing an incorrect balance, let's isolate your concern by performing verify and rebuild. This will fix any errors or damage related to your chart of accounts.

Here's how:

     1. Create a backup copy of your company file.

     2. To Verify:

          a. Click the File menu.

          b. Go to Utilities.

          c. Choose Verify.

     3. To Rebuild:

          a. Go to the File menu.

          b. Select Utilities.

          c. Choose Rebuild.

Once completed, you can now re-sort your account list. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Lists menu.
  2. Choose Chart of Accounts.
  3. Ensure All Accounts (or Include Inactive in earlier versions) is selected at the bottom of the list.
  4. Go to the Edit menu at the top left of QuickBooks.
  5. Select Re-sort List.
  6. Click OK on the Are you sure you want to return this list to its original order? prompt.

You can check this article for more detailed steps: Re-sort lists.
