Happy to have you here on the Community page, @mayc.

You can change the home currency in QuickBooks Online only if you haven't activated the Multicurrency feature. Since the feature is already activated, you can only change it by deleting all your data and starting over from scratch. For your guide, check out this link.

Thank you Angelyn for your prompt response.

From the link you included, I saw that should we cancel the account, the data is not deleted.

The account has been in use for many years. We should start a new account because of the incorrect home currency. Are we still able to access the previous years' data after the cancellation? Home currency was incorrect, however, the data is still important.

Thank you.

Thanks for getting back, @mayc.

Yes, you can still view your data if you decided to cancel the account. However, we only hang on to your data for up to a year and you'll have read-only access. Consider printing forms and reports you might need before the cancellation process.
