I can help you fix the print alignment for preprinted checks, @Eustace.
First, make sure to have the latest version of Adobe Reader. Then, set this as the default PDF viewer for your browser. Lastly, try to print a sample.
If you get the same result, proceed with the Fine-tune alignment:

The problem seems to be QB online check printing only works on QB 3 page checks not on my 2 page carbon copy checks
I can share additional information on how printing checks work in QuickBooks Online, @Eustace.
Aside from your Adobe reader and the pre-printed check configuration, you'd also want to check your browser's printing settings. Let's first check how your printing preference is set.
Once verified, now you can check your printer setup.

When printing a preprinted check that is too high, you can choose a letter further down the list to move the information down the page. For your guidelines, you can go to Printing too high section in this article: How to align preprinted paychecks.
